Have you ever "impulse buy"?

Have you ever "impulse buy"?

My buying addiction is athletic shoes, and I will admit, I don't always get a DEAL.  The latest impulse buy was the Hoka One One athletic shoes pictured above... And what a foolish  purchase that was!  Read on and more about "impulse shopping."

So, I bought the Hoka One Neon Pink & Acid at the unbelievable amount of  $70,  but I paid the price. Without trying them on and/or testing them out, I bought the Hoka One One shoes and waited over two weeks for them to be delivered which set the tone. In anticipation, as soon as they arrived, I put them on and did 30 minutes of elliptical at a moderate pace. Funny, my arch was bothering me that night. So, the next morning, I did the same, put the Hoka's on for a 30-minute cardio session, and continued to feel the same plantar fascia pain under my arch. Nothing else had changed in my regimen except these HOKA's.

Lesson #1:  *Don't buy athletic shoes off the internet unless you are familiar with them and/or currently wearing a similar pair. *

Lesson #2: * Don't succumb to your fleeting desires or addictive behaviors without careful consideration and patience*

Lesson #3: *Always listen to your body!*   Therefore, I sent those shoes back to the company and I had to pay for shipping ($11.00) - so that I could get a $70 credit to buy something else from the same company..(and wait another 3 weeks for delivery!!)

TAKE YOUR TIME when you shop..especially on the internet. I went to a local athletic store, tried on the proper shoes, walked around in them and purchased the Mizuno Wave Rider ($109). Even though I spent more than I wanted to (over $100) and above-the-norm time & effort, I found a shoe that fits my foot. That's more IMPRESSIVE than impulsive!
